The Filmpool’s Green take on a Drive-in
August 29th, 2008 at 8:00pm
Central Park (Hamilton and 14th) in Regina
Every year the Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative presents a drive-in theatre night. Usually, we take over a downtown parking lot, to demonstrate that downtown life is not all crime.
This year, we are one-upping ourselves. In collaboration with the Deraileurs (a bicycle advocacy group) we are hosting a bike-in screening. Bring your bikes and FM radios to Central Park (23 block Hamilton) on August 29and enjoy an evening of green film.
Go Organic will be presented, a package of clever short films that explore contemporary farming practices, including such films as the Meatrix and Frankensteer and was curated by Rural Routes Film Festival, a small film festival based in New York.
Western Cycle has come on board for our Bike In Screening and will be on hand to offer an info session on bike maintenance and mini tune ups for people who bring their bikes! Thanks to Dane and the crew from Western Cycle for being part of this event! The bike session will be underway by 7:30 pm in Central Park on the 29th.
Be sure to come and enjoy. Remember bring a bike, a blanket, and an fm radio and enjoy films under the stars…
