The Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative is proud to present our biannual festival, Festival 50 / 104. Designed to encourage indepent film in Saskatchewan and to connect our members to Canada's best independent shorts. This year we received a record number of submissions from across Canada. Click here for more information on our festival purpose. This year, the Filmpool was proud to include our festival as part of our 30th Anniversary events!
This years festival films covered the spectrum of many genres from filmmakers all across Canada. The shorts that were included were viewed by a pre screening jury and then put into 2 packages for your viewing enjoyment. These selected films were viewed by an audience of over 200 people inclouding our celebrity jurors; Colleen Murphy, Jayce Salloum and Zarqa Nawaz. Our festival jurors labored late into the night to make some hard decisions about the shorts deserving of our Festival Awards.
A great addition to the Festival was our video contest. Opened to Saskatchewan residents only, the video contest encouraged people who might not normally pick up a camera to do so and just get out there and shoot something just for fun. Well.... fun and a cheque for $501.04. The videos were a great collection of funny, satirical, odd and action packed adventures. If you were there, thanks for being a part of the Celebration! It was a blast.

Join us over the 2007-2008 year as we celebrate 30 years of independent filmmaking!
