Youth Filmpool Artists in Residence (YFAIR) is part of the Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative's youth summer programming 🎉 Over a period of 2 weeks this summer participants will have the opportunity to explore, learn, create together with mentorship support through the medium of video and film. Come with your ideas and creativity, and tell your friends!
After 16 amazing years of our annual Film Camp for Youth, we decided it was time to shift our focus to supporting young artists in a structure that was different from a day camp. The artist residency model activates the creative and technical potential of participants in a collaborative and supportive peer-based learning/creation environment. 2022 was the inaugural year for YFAIR, and we can't wait to welcome a new cohort this summer in 2023.
The program is free of charge for participants, although donations are welcome. Lunch, snacks, and a bus pass will be provided.
We are committed to facilitating a safe, welcoming, inclusive space for the students as part of our ongoing efforts to reduce barriers and improve accessibility within our organization. By entering the Filmpool, you agree to treat our space and the people with respect and care. We do not accept racism, white supremacy, sexism, heterosexism/homophobia, cissexism/transphobia, sizeism, ableism and ageism, or any type of violence and harassment.
For more information about accessibility within the Filmpool space, please refer to the access page on our site.
Stay tuned to our website and social media channels for more announcements and details as we get closer to the event date!
