SASKFILMCAMPDESCRIPTION

This is the 8th Annual Summer Film Camp for ages 13 to 17. It all happens in downtown Regina, at the Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative, a.k.a. the Filmpool – located at #301- 1822 Scarth Street, Regina Saskatchewan.

In just one week young filmmakers learn how to create stories visually, using all kinds of film and video equipment. Participants shoot and edit all week long; trying out different crew positions and working together to create a bunch of amazing short films. At the end of the week young filmmakers invite family and friends to their cinematic debut on the big screen at the Regina Public Library Film Theatre, in beautiful downtown Regina.

ONE WEEK ONLY (July 8 – 12) Participants expand their skill set beyond the basics of camera operation, lighting, sound recording and editing. This week is jam packed with technical production and digital storytelling instruction. Young filmmakers have creative control and utilize practical application of skills honed, to create different kinds of video projects including documentary, experimental, animation and narrative genres.

Previous video production experience or knowledge is required or preferred. We are seeking young people with a passion for film and video and expect people to engage all week long!

Camps are each lead by 4 instructors. Registration is limited to a maximum of 16 students to ensure proper instruction and supervision. Sign up soon, by calling 306-757-8818 as space is limited.

    1. The cameras used for Filmcamp are the very user-friendly Panasonic HDC-TM900, and the editing software used during this past year was Premiere Pro.
