2D ANIMATION MASTER CLASS – WITH ADRIAN DEAN
From the creator of CityTV’s cartoon series, Doowett, comes this hands-on 4 part workshop that will lead participants through the technical and theoretical aspects of creating 2D animation using ToonBoom software. Participants will be given a tour of the software, and be taught some essential elements of both hand drawn and cut-out styles of animation.
Adrian Dean is a Saskatchewan-based producer who seeks to bring ideas to life. He graduated from the University of Regina with a BFA in film and television production in 2007. He has animated on television series such as Louis Says (APTN) and Tales of Ty the T-Rex (SCN). He created the preschool animated series Doowett (CityTV) which he also directs, produces, and animates. Adrian has contributed visual effects and animation for feature films, short films, documentaries, and commercials. His work can be seen on the web, television, and even theatrically. He is currently in production on a second season of Doowett.
$80 for Filmpool Members – This includes all instruction, along with 6 free hours
in the New Media Suite, to be used between March 1st – 31st, 2015.
$120 for non-members – This includes all instruction.
This is an intro-level animation workshop, however participants will be expected to have a firm grasp of the fundamentals of filmmaking and have an adequate body of work to support this claim.

Thursday February 26th, 6:30pm – 9:00pm
Saturday February 28th, 1:00pm – 5:00pm
Sunday March 1st, 1:00pm – 5:00pm
The workshop will be held at THE FILMPOOL, located at #301- 1822 Scarth Street, Regina, S4P 2G3 Take the stairs or the elevator to the top floor. The Filmpool is located on the pedestrian part of Scarth Street in downtown Regina (between DOTS clothing and TRAMPS Music). We are located in busy downtown Regina and we suggest you plan for a little time to find parking.
