Affinity Credit Union Film Camp

A two-day lighting workshop with Regina cinematographer Layton Burton. Principles of effective lighting will be covered, including a focus on the practises and styles of German Expressionism.
One Take Super 8 Event

Shot on super 8, the films in these events have never been seen before, not even by the filmmakers! Edited in-camera, the works are shown as they were shot. No Cuts! No Splices!

In addition to electing new members to the Filmpool Board, reviewing the Filmpool’s financial situation, and reports from staff and Board – the AGM offers members an opportunity to share their thoughts about the Filmpool in general. There will be many important issues facing the Filmpool in the months ahead, and the organization needs your input and your vision to help out with these decisions.

Daniel Cross, in conversation with Mark Wihak, will discuss his 20 year journey as a filmmaker, supported by clips form several of his films, including the launch of his latest feature “I Am The Blues.”

This two part workshop will examine both technical hands on skills as well as editing theory. On the first night join us for a look at the software and technical aspects of editing with the Adobe Creative Suite. Follow up with us on night two for a panel discussion with editors from documentary, experimental and narrative backgrounds.

Grant Application Deadline

Grants and equipment deferrals are available for production, post-production, and distribution. First time filmmakers (including students) may apply for the First Film Fund for their first project with the Filmpool.
Grant Writing Workshop

How to effectively articulate your idea to a jury. This workshop focuses on the upcoming Filmpool grant applications. The workshop will be lead by University of Regina Department of Film Production Professor Kyath Battie.
