48 Hour Film Frenzy
Fri, Jul 22
|Saskatchewan Filmpool Coorperative
Calling all filmmakers! Take part in a Canada-wide film challenge where you and your team have just 48 hours to write, shoot, direct, edit a film ready for the big screen!
Time & Location
Jul 22, 2022, 5:00 p.m. – Jul 24, 2022, 5:00 p.m.
Saskatchewan Filmpool Coorperative, Regina, SK, Canada
About the Event
Unique to Saskatchewan, participants will shoot their project on 16mm black & white film and have the opportunity to hand-develop with eco-friendly developing processes. Once registered, you and your assigned team will receive an equipment package featuring a Bolex H16 camera, lenses, developing kit, and everything you need to go out and shoot the analog short film of your wildest dreams. Teams are multi-disciplinary, you don't have to be a filmmaker to participate, just be interested in helping to make a film in 48 hours :) Actors, musicians, writers & anyone interested in exploring their creative side!
The top two films will go on to screen as a part of the national 48 Film Fest, which screens at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)
This year's Film Frenzy will be facilitated by Métis filmmaker Rhayne Vermette, whose work has pushed the boundaries of analog filmmaking since she started making experimental films in 2012. Her feature-length debut Ste. Anne, shot on 16mm film, debuted last year at Berlinale, and has been shown on Criterion.
We hope you'll join us for a fun 48 hours!
Cost is 25$ for Filmpool members, and 40$ for non-members.
