Film Camp 2012 - On the set of "A Robot Affair"

Film Camp 2012 – On the set of “A Robot Affair”

Film Camp is back and shaping up to be better than ever. Sponsored once again by Sask Film, Film Camp is a week-long video production intensive giving youth the tools they need to succeed as filmmakers, video artists and media professionals. At the end of the week, the campers premiere their work at the Regina Public Library Film Theatre for the world to see (more on that below).

Registration is almost full, and the Filmpool staff is excited to see both familiar and fresh faces signing up. Next week we will be welcoming a new staff member to help instruct the camp, and our production coordinator Berny Hi will be returning to lend his wisdom and expertise, and member services coordinator Kristine Dowler will also be in the trenches for the week. We’re developing a revised curriculum this year, focusing on the individual skill development of every camper and finding their own style and strengths. Over the next week we will be updating the site to feature more info and retrospectives on past camps, as this signature event of the Filmpool has come a long way since its conception half a decade ago and will only become more and more relevant in the coming years. To the current registrants, you will receive logistical information for the camp this coming week.

To everyone else, mark your calenders: come to to the premiere at the RPL Film Theatre on Friday, July 20th at 3:30pm. As we all know, it’s paramount to have an audience for your films and the film campers are no exception. We invite our sponsors, members, mentors, and friends and family to all come show their support for the future of filmmaking in this province.

It’s going to be a great week!
