The Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative is pleased to once again be hosting Screening Under the Steeple as a part of the Cathedral Village Arts Festival. Screening Under the Steeple is a long-running Filmpool community event, so only active members are eligible to submit for this screening.
We invite all members in good standing to submit their short films for consideration by Sunday, April 30th, 2023, 11:59PM.
Chosen works will be compensated with a screening fee of $100 based on IMAA rates, and recognition at the event and on social media. All filmmakers who take time to submit their footage will be compensated with $20 in Filmpool Bucks to be used towards equipment rentals.
This year's Screening Under the Steeple will take place at the Artesian on Wednesday, May 24th, 2023.
About the Festival Now in it's 32nd year, the Cathedral Village Arts Festival encourages the community to see the world from varying perspectives and, perhaps, to act as a catalyst for change. The Festival's theme this year is ‘HOME’ and it poses a simple question: “What does this word really mean?“ ‘Home’ represents different things to different peoples. A gathering place, a safe space, a shelter, a responsibility, the land we stand upon. Come join in the fun from May 22nd to May 27th at this festival of imagination. A place where you can sing, dance, bring your children, bring your elders, or simply be together as a community to celebrate the timeless wonder of the arts.
For any assistance with submission, please email Kayla Rourke at programs@filmpool.ca
