SaskShot Wrap-up & Honourable Mentions: Film Noir

The photos have been taken. The film has been developed. (NOT!) And now, the decisions have been made.

The inaugural SaskShot Photo Competition – a photography contest that offered inspiration in the form of 5 categories: Portrait, Landscape, Film Noir, Photo Editing, and Inspired By… Poetry, all in pursuit of prizes and immortality in the form of publication – is very nearly at its end.

A huge thanks to our judges for going through all of our entries and making the tough decisions on who would be getting our sponsors’ wonderful prizes, and their photos published in the upcoming issue of Splice Magazine.

The prizes to be awarded include an 8 x 12 metal print of a winning photo courtesy of Bird Films, a platter of local brewed beers from Bushwakker Brewing Company, and gift cards from our other great sponsors! Tangerine: the food bar, Leopold’s Tavern, The Capitol, and Lancaster Taphouse.

As stated, the winning photographs won’t be revealed until the release of Splice, but we do want to show off some of the runners-up. There were so many great photos submitted, it’s a shame there isn’t room for them all.

We’ll start with the honourable mentions for the Film Noir category:
