***Calling all BIPOC moving image artists and moving image curious creatives!***
The Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative in partnership with Sâkêwêwak will be offering two artist residency placements for Hybrid: BIPOC Analog - Digital Residency at the end of March 2023. We hope to support two BIPOC artists looking to experiment and innovate at the intersection of film and digital practices. This could be interpreted in a number of ways but artists are invited to engage with our super 8mm and 16mm cameras + post production facilities and explore the possibilities of shifting the analog to a digital realm in whatever way you see fit.
Artists in residence will have unlimited access to equipment and facilities as well as mentorship opportunities. The artists will be in residence at the Filmpool with opportunities for mentorship and spatial usage at Sâkêwêwak as well. Artists in residence will be welcomed to identify additional mentors/artists/instructors/Elders/traditional knowledge keepers/etc to support their two week residency. We will help facilitate mentorship opportunities!
We invite BIPOC applicants that are post-secondary graduates under 31 (as per funding requirements) to apply. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in so-called Canada and identify as underemployed (employed below your level of education).

- *optional* up to three mentors/artists/instructors/Elders/traditional knowledge keepers/etc you would like to work with and one sentence on why they would be a good fit for you, your practice and your time as an artist in residence. Please note that they do not need to be based in Regina, SK, Treaty 4
