New Gear, New Rates!

The Filmpool is excited to announce important new acquisitions to our equipment offerings, and share our new rental rates for 2024-25. 




We’ve updated our rates to be consistent with other IMAA organizations and rental houses across the country. Any bookings made before end of day Friday, June 21, 2024 will be grandfathered in on the current rates. We also have revised package offerings for complete kits that are ready to grab and go – check out the equipment list, and call the Filmpool for details (306-757-8818).

ARRI ALEXA Mini (PL/EF mount)



The Filmpool is thrilled to now offer the first ARRI ALEXA Mini for rent in Saskatchewan. No other camera has had such an impact on filmmaking the past decade, thanks to this camera’s versatility, reliability, and legendary Super35 ALEV III sensor.


The Filmpool’s kit is “shooting ready” with a dedicated Tilta cage to pair with shoulder rig or tripod, but can also be stripped down for gimbal work. With replaceable PL (active) and EF mounts the Filmpool’s ALEXA MINI can be paired with our Sigma Cine FF lenses for active recording of lens information, or paired with our ZEISS Compact Prime CP.2 (EF mount) kit.

We will be holding two in-person sessions to roll out the ARRI ALEXA Mini:  

Intro & Proficiency Workshop

Tuesday June 18th

6pm - 8pm

One hour demo / run- through and one hour of hands-on experience. This intro workshop will be everything you need to know to be able to rent out the ARRI ALEXA Mini with confidence and ease.

SIGMA 50mm T1.5 FF Cine Lens, PL Mount with i/Tech


We are excited to expand our SIGMA Cine FF lens kit with the addition of the 50mm T1.5. Like the rest of our SIGMA Cine FF lenses, this lens has full frame coverage and an active PL mount to electronically share lens information via cameras compatible with Cooke’s i/Tech (like the ALEXA MINI).

This acquisition brings our SIGMA Cine FF kit to a total of four lenses: 20mm, 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm. Rates for the individual lenses and full kit have been updated on our gear list.



Second Panasonic LUMIX DC-GH5 Mirrorless Camera Body 




The Filmpool’s GH5 has been one of the most popular rental items the past few years… so we bought another one! Two camera bodies mean you can now have matching cameras for interview set-ups, have a B cam on set, or just make sure we have one available for you to rent. 

Our updated packages pair the camera bodies with our DZOFILM M43 zoom lenses. Check them out in our updated equipment list!


Sound Devices MixPre-3 II Digital Recorder

The Sound Devices MIXPRE-3 II Digital Recorder brings a five channel 32bit recording option to the Filmpool, in a portable package. Perfect for field recordings, documentary shoots, or podcasts.

We are also excited to share some gear acquisitions from the past two years that deserve some attention:


Nanlite PavoTube 30C 4ft 32w x 4, RGBW LED 

Nanlite PavoTube RGB+W LED Tubes are an amazingly versatile lighting fixture that features 0 to 100% dimming with maximum illumination of 2850 lumens per tube (the 4 tubes in this kit produce 2369Lux @ 1m when combined) at 5600K, as well as a full spectrum RGB and pre-programmed special lighting effects. With the color temperature adjustable from 6500-2700K, a CRI of 98 and a TLCI of 95 this device exceeds most studio lighting needs. It also features a choice of over 360 static light colors on the RGB spectrum and can cycle through the entire spectrum at a speed of your choice.

Perfect as a director’s monitor, the SUMO19 also lets you record ProRes RAW at up to 5.7kp30, 4kp120 DCI/UHD and 2kp240 DCI/HD.

Atomos Ninja V + Pro Kit (Up to 4K, 60fps)

From Atomos: “The NINJA V PRO KIT has been designed to bridge the gap between compact cinema and mirrorless cameras that can output RAW via HDMI or SDI. PRO KIT also pushes the limits of these cameras, recording up to 12-bit RAW externally on the NINJA's onboard SSD. The PRO KIT also provides the ability to cross covert signals providing a versatile solution for monitoring and play-out/review. The NINJA V PRO KIT is a pre-assembled monitor kit which ensures you are production-ready and consists of the NINJA V, ATOMX SDI module, ATOMX 5" Sunhood, SDI RAW Pre-Activated and other accessories to enhance the performance of your monitor-recorder in the field.”


Teradek Bolt 500 XT 3G-SDI/HDMI Wireless TX/RX

The Teradek Bolt 500 XT 3G-SDI/HDMI Wireless Transmitter and Receiver Set includes one transmitter and one receiver. This enables you to immediately start transmitting up to 1080p60 video from either an SDI or HDMI source. The zero-latency transmitter/receiver pair features a 500' line-of-site transmission distance. You can send and receive visually lossless 3G-video signals from a Bolt 500 transmitter with zero latency. The transmitter features cross conversion, so you take an SDI signal in and loop out either an SDI or HDMI signal to your on-camera monitor.

The receiver also features both SDI and HDMI outputs, and the system supports digital SD and HD signals. Although the inputs and outputs support a variety of HD signals in both 50 and 60 Hz standards, as well as 480i and 576i, only HDMI supports 480p and 576p. You can transmit up to three other 3rd-generation Bolt receivers as the transmitter can support up to four receivers. The built-in AES 128-bit encryption helps keep your transmitted video safe from prying eyes.
